Not a day goes by that I don't get asked if we're ready for number 2. Sometimes this question sincerely annoys me. That is strictly David's and my business. Don't get me wrong; we will have another child, but we don't feel the timing is right...right now. Although, every time I get onto Facebook or talk to an "old" friend, we discover someone new is pregnant! So that does get one thinking! And while I absolutely adore being pregnant, we aren't ready to grow our family just yet. Of course, I have to remember that my second pregnancy could be the exact opposite of my first (I had no sickness...at all, ever; no cravings; etc. If my belly hadn't grown, we might not have known anything!)!
Hayden's at such a great age. He's really into "dancing" (which is more like a "stanky leg" with a few spins and head shakes thrown in and rapid arm movements!). He's actually listening very well. He's sleeping through the night and typically wakes in a ready-to-go mood. He's communicating well and knows his body parts...still focused on his belly button, though! He loves school. And he's just so darn cute! I think David and I are just so enjoying being able to lavish everything on Hayden for right now. Maybe that's selfish, but whatever. For our child's size, he has a very tender heart and one day he'll be a fantastic big brother.
So...for any wonderers, yes, there will be a baby #2. When? I have no idea! For now, we're just soaking up every bit of Hayden's sweet kisses and tight hugs!

Don't be hating on the people that get pregnant! It happens. I tell you what, 4 1/2 years is perfect for us. No diapers, no sippy cups, minimal crying, he talks to us, we talk to him, & it's very lovely. I am so glad I never had them any closer together. I wouldn't have wanted to wait 10 years between 'em, but 2 years or less was NOT for me and my family. To each his own. Maybe the nosey ones are just making small talk, I wouldn't take it to heart. Do what you want, the rest of the people don't matter.
Enjoy having an only child while you can! I know what you mean about it seeming like everyone is announcing they are pregnant these days, and since Jarod and I have been married for 3 1/2 yrs with no children, we are CONSTANTLY asked when we're going to have kids. If I even hint at the fact that I'm not feeling well everyone starts asking if I'm pregnant. I always think..if I wanted you to know I was pregnant, don't you think I'd tell you. My standard answer to everyone when they ask when is 5 years, haha! Now everyone is starting to say, you said that 3 years ago. I just stick with my standard 5 years and it gets a few people to quit bugging me!
Not that you need me to tell you this but... You both are still very young. Enjoy your time with Hayden now. And whenever Baby #2 does come along, I'm sure he will make a fantastic big brother! Erin is right. To each his own. I wouldn't trade my boys for anything in the world. And we DID have ours close together! Once Evan is completely potty trained and out of diapers, I'll have some extra $$ to throw a big party!!! ;o)
I'm not trying to hate on anyone having their second (or 3rd or whatever); I'm just stating that people at work, church, wherever, always wanna know when we're having #2. We just really don't know. I love the age Hayden is now, and I'm not ready to throw a newborn back into the mix. That's all I meant.
You know I was kidding about "hating on the people that get pregnant", right? I thought it was funny cause I am pregnant. You know, Danny told me that if our children "hadn't happened on accident", we probably wouldnt have any at all! (I found this funny too, cause now he is stuck..muhahaha..but he's a great daddy!)Have a baby when YOU want (or don't, that's the best part about it being YOUR choice!). I feel like an outcast because I am young, most people are waiting til late 20s or 30 to have them, and that's ok with me. I have several friends that don't even want any kiddos at all, and that's cool too. Ask Gabe where kids come from, he'll tell you all about the kid store.
