Hayden brought me "The Grinch" (with Jim Carrey) to watch tonight! With the cooler temps and fall colors, I'm ready for the holidays. It did get fairly warm this afternoon, but no where near the 100 degree heat we were fighting mere weeks ago. The cold temps in the morning (and darkness) have made me want to curl up on the couch with some good Christmas films. My favorite is the old Miracle on 34th Street. Oh, and White Christmas! David and I were very fortunate to see this at the Orpheum Theater in Memphis (for free; box seats!) about 4 years ago. David isn't as into musicals as I am; I was in love!
Things are progressing with Vancouver. I had been planning to sit down with my boss soon, but someone decided to put a bug in his ear. I'm not sure who, and I guess it really doesn't matter. He's a Christian, and he has known me for about 15 years, so he's well aware of my faith. The talk went well; I just wish we all really kept out mouths shut when we tell people, "I won't say a word. Promise!" But that's human nature, I suppose. I'm just as guilty of this trait, so I really should be pointing fingers at myself more than anyone.
Age 2 1/2 has hit hard this week, just this week. Hayden hit at school, he hasn't wanted to stay seated, etc. He's still polite and respectful, but he's pushing boundaries. But right now that all seems as if it's in the distant past as Hayden lies on the couch next to me with his head on my lap soaking in the movie. I can't wait for Christmas this year with an almost 3 YO! It's all so magical!
